Due to unspecified “technical difficulties,” the Jessup Lane Bridge, a drawbridge in Westhampton Beach, may be out of service through this evening, Southampton Town announced on Thursday afternoon shortly before 5 p.m. The town suggested drivers seek an alternate route and avoid the bridge, which follows Jessup Lane to Dune Road, crossing the entrance to Moneybogue Bay.

Permitting public employees to collect a six-figure pension while simultaneously collecting a six-figure salary is one of the reasons why New York is such a high-tax state.
