Florence T. Perez of Wainscott died on January 9. She was 81.

Born and raised in New York City, she and her family lived in Venezuela and in the 1960s settled in Sagaponack and, later, Wainscott. Traveling was one of her passions—Italy, London and San Francisco were among her favorite destinations. She loved spending time with her family, working in her garden, being at the beach, and she was an avid reader, seamstress and gourmet cook. She will be remembered for the pride she took in her home and making her world impeccable and beautiful, from the manicured gardens to the holiday meals, survivors said.

She is survived by five children, Carole, Tom, Xanne, Robbie and Michael; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.
