Beacon of Hope Run Slated For June 14

A surprise honoree will be recognized at this year’s Beacon of Hope 5K, which benefits local cancer organizations, Lucia’s Angels and the Coalition for Women’s Cancers. The event is Saturday, June 14, at the Montauk Lighthouse, with a 9 a.m. start. The course winds through the historic Camp Hero State Park and finishes alongside the Montauk Lighthouse tower. Rose Events Planned in Southampton

The Southampton Rose Society has two events planned this month, both on Saturday, June 14. First, the annual Rose Show will take place at the Rogers Memorial Library in the Morris Room beginning at 7:30 a.m. with public viewing from 1 to 4 p.m. The trophy presentation will take place at 3 p.m. All rose growers are invited to enter roses. The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, in partnership with Suffolk County Department of Minorities Affairs, Latina Sisters, The Witness Project and Hudson Helping Hands, will present an Autism Awareness Panel on Wednesday, June 18, at the center, 551 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike. Free Puppet Shows at Mashashimuet Park

A free puppet show series, with the Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre, will be held on Saturdays in June at Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor, starting June 7.
