Harry Henderson
Former Bridgehampton resident Harry Henderson died on November 8 in Blakeley, Georgia. He was 77.
“Slim,” as friends in the community knew him, was a tall, colorful character who came to Long Island in 1966 to earn extra money to support his family. He resided and worked in and around the Bridgehampton area, until his health began to fail in 2005 and he decided to return to his home in Georgia.
Mr. Henderson will be remembered for his generous heart and willingness to help the numerous friends and acquaintances he met on his many bicycle travels from Sagaponack to Bridgehampton, survivors said.
Survivors include two sons, one daughter, three sisters, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his extended family, the Andersons, along with many friends on Long Island.
Funeral services were held on November 15 at St. Mary’s Baptist Church in Blakely, Georgia. Interment followed at Damascus Cemetery.
