Norman L. Barker
Former Eastport resident Norman L. Barker of Fort Pierce, Florida, died January 10 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Florida. He was 90.
Born in Henderson, North Carolina, he lived in Eastport and Center Moriches, before retiring to Spanish Lakes Fairways in Fort Pierce 20 years ago.
In Eastport, he worked as an accountant with Beacon Feed Mill Co. for 44 years, volunteered for the Eastport Fire Department and was a member of the East End Democratic Club. In Florida, he was a member of the Lakewood Park United Methodist Church in Fort Pierce.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Barker of Florida; two daughters, Linda Mockridge of Center Moriches and Cindy Lee Anniballi of Florida; a son, Timothy Barker of Florida; a sister, Miller Wright of East Quogue; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded by a sister, Jane Mohr; and a brother, Robert Ace Barker.
A memorial service, under the direction Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, Florida, will be held on January 20, at 11 a.m., at the Lakewood Park United Methodist Church in Fort Pierce.
