Former Southampton resident Glenn Millington Johnson died on January 10 in Toms River, New Jersey, after a long illness. He was 53.
Born in Freeport to the former Grace Bassler Johnson and Herbert Francis Johnson, he was a graduate of Baldwin High School and attended Farmingdale College. He worked as an assembler for the production of stanchions.
Survivors described Mr. Johnson as a loyal friend whose heart remained in Southampton throughout his years of medical confinement at Health South in Toms River.
He is survived by a sister, Lyn Stansbury of Massachusetts; a brother, Russell K. Johnson and his wife Nancy of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 15, at 11 a.m. at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Southampton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163 would be appreciated by the family.
