Former Southampton Resident Kathryn L. Jacobs-Ericson Dies February 3

Kathryn Jacobs-Ericson of Richmondville, formerly of Southampton, died at Albany Medical Center on February 3. She was 81.

Born on January 28, 1931, in Mt. Vernon, New York, she graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and went on to become an accountant. She was involved with the “Stop Shoreham” movement and was a den mother when her sons were Cub Scouts.

Predeceased by her husband, Amos, she is survived by four children, Amos Jr. of Southampton, Lisa and Laurie of Upstate New York and Jason of California; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Jack Van Orden.

Interment of ashes will be at Sag Harbor Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21. Following at 2:00 p.m. the family will gather at the home of Amos Ericson. Arrangements are under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor.

Memorial donations may be made to Boy Scouts Troop 58, Box 722, Southampton, NY 11969.
