Former Southampton resident Kenneth P. Downs died at The Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Florida, on August 24, after a battle with cancer. He was 57.
Born in Southampton on November 10, 1955, to Philip Downs and Frances Nelson, he was an active member of the Southampton Volunteer Fire Department Fire Police and the Southampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps for many years.
He is survived by a son, Michael Downs and wife Amanda; a grandson, Sean Downs of Virginia; as well as siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by two sisters, Kimberly Downs Foster of Southampton and JoAnne Brennesholtz of Tennessee; Richard “Dad” Brennesholtz Sr. of Tennessee, Virginia “Mom” Essay of Southampton, and Barbara H. Kraszewski and family of Delaware.
According to Mr. Downs’s wishes there will be no services. Interment of ashes will be private.
