Former Southampton resident Mary Rosa Penski of Ocala, Florida, died on September 4 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 79.
Born in Waltamstow, England, to William and Hilda (Wilson) Newton, she worked for the British Secret Service, where she met her husband, Walter, who was serving in the United States Air Force. They were married in 1957 and moved to Southampton, and she worked as the court clerk for Southampton Town Justice Court. After retirement they moved to Ocala.
Ms. Penski is survived by her husband, Walter E. Penski; two sons, Andrew Penski and wife Nancy, and Christopher Penski; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Christopher, and Steven; three great-grandchildren; and a brother in England.
A funeral service took place on September 7 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon, Florida, with Marion County Hospice Chaplain Bob officiating.
