July 24 -- Euripides Cruz of Waterbury, Connecticut had been missing for the past six years and was presumed dead by his family in Quogue by Village Police.

July 24 -- Euripides Cruz of Waterbury, Connecticut had been missing for the past six years and was presumed dead by his family in Quogue by Village Police.

A funeral was held for former Westhampton Beach Village Mayor and World War II veteran Arma Ham" Andon Saturday morning.
Mr. Andon was well known in the Westhampton area, having served as mayor from 1986 until 1994. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army until he was wounded and returned home in 1945. During his time on the East End, Mr. Andon served as the commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5350 for nearly two decades, was an active member of the Rotary Club of Westhampton, and served as a fire commissioner for the Westhampton Beach Fire District, among his many accolades.
After a funeral mass at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Westhampton Beach Main Street Saturday morning, Mr. Andon was driven past the Sunset Avenue firehouse one last time while members of the department saluted.
