Former Westhampton Resident William Hartmann Dies On May 27

William J. Hartmann

William Jon Hartmann of Spring Hill, Florida, formerly of Westhampton, died on May 27 due to exposure from Agent Orange and complications caused by lymphatic filariasis, according to family members. He was 66.

Mr. Hartmann graduated from Westhampton Beach High School in 1964. He joined the Marine Corps and served from 1964 until 1968, completing a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1967.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; four children, Brandon, Michelle, Jon and Becky; a brother, Richard and his wife Kathryn of Cutchogue; and a sister, Jill and her husband Mark of Maryland.

Mr. Hartmann was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Betty Hartmann.

Interment with full military honors will take place on Friday, June 22, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
