Frances Barry Roden died on June 3 at Southampton Hospital. She was 86.
Born June 27, 1921, in New York City, she graduated from Lady Cliff college in 1941. She was a volunteer at Southampton Hospital and for the South Fork Breast Health Coalition, founded by her daughter Susan Roden, since 1993.
Predeceased by her husband, Walter Roden, with whom she eloped at the beginning of World War II, she is survived by a son, Robert Roden and his wife Theresa; a daughter, Susan Roden; a sister, Josephine Connor; a brother, Patrick Barry; and a granddaughter, Abigail.
The family will receive visitors today, June 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. Funeral services will be held tomorrow, June 6, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church in Southampton. The Reverend Monsignor Edmond Trench will officiate.
Interment will follow at Long Island National Cemetery at Pinelawn.
