Frances 'Fran' Reeve Of Westhampton Dies July 14

Frances “Fran” Reeve of Westhampton died on July 14. She was 78.

Born in Riverhead on November 20, 1936, she was the daughter of Francis and Helen (Kaczenski) Belson. She graduated from Westhampton Beach High School—where she participated in band and field hockey—in 1954, was a member of the Westhampton Beach Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and parishioner of the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Quiogue. In addition to trips and outings with her family, she enjoyed the beach, fishing, sailing and crabbing and was an avid bowler and ice skater in her younger years.

Predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Francis and Charles, she is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Reeve; daughter, Theresa Wassle and husband Garry; sons, Thomas Jr. and wife April, Robert and wife Annette, and Raymond and wife Stacey Trelfa; and niece, Barbara (Belson) Shultz.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Andy Wassle and wife Katie, Ryan Wassle, Henry and David Reeve, Rebecca Reeve and husband James Carr, Robert “Bobby” Reeve, Benjamin and Anabelle Reeve; step-grandchildren, Eian and Zachary Trelfa; and great-grandchildren, Jack, Wesley and Molly Wassle.

Visitation was held July 16 at Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach, with a funeral Mass on Friday at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Westhampton Beach. Interment followed at St. John’s Cemetery in Riverhead.

Memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Food Pantry, 580 Main Street, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978.
