Francis A. Mullin of Southampton died on July 9 at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown. A former director of admissions at the Southampton Campus of Long Island University, he was 87.

If the 2017 tax rules expire, residents will once again be able to deduct 100 percent of their state and local taxes.
