Frank B. Rice of Southampton died on May 26. He was 79.

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, May 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church in Southampton. Interment follows at Southampton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Polo Training Foundation Memorial Fund, 70 Clinton Street, Tully, NY 13159 would be appreciated. A complete obituary will appear in a future edition of The Press.

Hampton Bays School District $67.5 Million Budget Vote Is Tuesday

Hampton Bays School District residents will be asked to vote for a $67,495,698 budget for the 2025-26 school year on Tuesday, May 20. The spending plan is a 2.16 percent, or $1,427,298, increase from the current year’s budget of $66,068,400 and comes with a 3.32 percent, or $1,650,194, tax levy increase, from $49,723,021 to $51,373,215, which is compliant with the state’s cap on tax levy increases. Eastport-South Manor School District voters will decide on a tax-cap compliant budget on Tuesday, May 20, and also cast votes in the Board of Education race, in which three incumbents are running unopposed.
