Frederick Ledermann
Frederick Ledermann of Southampton died on August 5 at Southampton Hospital. He was 87.
Mr. Ledermann served in the U.S. military during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He earned the Purple Heart three times and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.
He was also the superintendent of Hendrickson Brothers Construction in Valley Stream.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Ledermann of Southampton; five sons, John Ledermann of Hampton Bays, Charles Ledermann of West Islip, Edward Ledermann of Hampton Bays, Frederick Ledermann Jr., also of Hampton Bays and James Ledermann of Sag Harbor; two daughters, Anita and Patricia, both of Southampton; a sister, Pia Fischer of Forest Hills; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family received visitors on August 7 and 8 at R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. Funeral services were held August 9 at St. Rosalie’s Roman Catholic Church, also in Hampton Bays. Interment followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram.
