The Montauk Point Lighthouse and Museum will offer free admission on October 12 as part of the Montauk Historical Society’s “Locals Day” promotion celebrating the completion of the lighthouse restoration and revetment expansion.
The gates will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and visitors will be able to climb the 137 steps to the top of the tower and stroll through the museum’s rooms of artifacts and historical representations of the lighthouse’s 227-year history.
