Gary G. Lisbon
Gary G. Lisbon, longtime resident of Southampton, died at Southampton Hospital on Thursday, October 6, with family at his side. He was 69.
He was born on December 23, 1941, in Southampton to George and Violet Lisbon. His father was the founder of Lisbon Electric, and so it was natural for Mr. Lisbon to become a master electrician, taking over the family business with his brother Robert, working there until his retirement.
When not working, Mr. Lisbon enjoyed taking drives, caring for his dog, watching NASCAR races and old movies, and collecting antique bottles.
He is survived by his sister, Marie Penny and her husband Harry; his nephew and nieces, Adam Lisbon, Abby Lisbon and Susan Smith. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert G. Lisbon.
The family received friends on Friday, October 7, at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton, where a funeral service took place Saturday morning; the Reverend Richard Boyer, pastor of the Southampton Presbyterian Church, officiated. Interment followed at Southampton Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Southampton Volunteer Ambulance, P.O. Box 2760, Southampton, NY 11969, to which he gave generously during his lifetime, would be appreciated.
