George Peter Karoussis of Southampton died on April 4, of cancer. He was 62.
Mr. Karoussis was originally from the island of Chios, Greece, and lived on the East End since 1972 and, at that time, was employed at the Hampton Bays Diner. He later went on to own the Victory Luncheonette in Amagansett, the Parkview Restaurant in Southampton, and the Paradise in Sag Harbor, where he was fondly regarded for his homemade soups, muffins and Greek specialties.
In later years, he also owned the Hamptons Paradise Taxi.
Predeceased by his wife, Jean, in 1979, he never remarried. He is survived by a daughter, Alexandra; grandsons, Zack and Jake; a sister, Maria; and two nephews, Gus and Peter.
Visiting was at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton on April 10. A funeral was held on April 11 at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons, followed by interment at Southampton Cemetery.
