George W. Banks of Southampton and New York City died on June 11 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He was 82.
Born in Currituck, North Carolina, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from work as a dispatcher at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
He is survived by a sister, Ann Mack of Bridgehampton; four nieces; five nephews; and a host of grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
The family received visitors on June 16 at Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton, where a funeral service was officiated by Reverend Marvin Dozier. Burial with military honors followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
