Give Him Credit

It’s time, Southampton Village residents.

For the first time in my 45 years of living out here, Bill Manger is the first and only mayor to dramatically improve and beautify the look of Southampton Village. Bill Manger has vision.

Manger saw that many trees were missing or dead. He has planted 400 trees. Bill installed new entrances to the village with curbing for traffic calming and filled them with plantings and flowers, creating a welcoming presence. Bill Manger has installed new street lights. As I travel into the village, I enjoy and take pride in seeing the American flags on each light.

Mayor Bill has listened and learned from knowledgeable people who know about Lake Agawam. He is first addressing the problem of storm runoff. He has installed many bioswales for the storm water to filter into the earth rather than dumping directly into Lake Agawam.

Feel free to add to this very short list of Bill’s accomplishments.

If you’re a bit like me, you have to give him credit. In less than two years, Mayor Bill Manger enriched the community. The open strife is gone. The village is working together and is in unison.

You may not agree with everything, but that is not a reason not to vote for him. You can see the love, the passion, the care when you talk to him. Is there more to be done? You bet there is, but it is a long process.

It is your obligation to vote for Mayor Bill Manger on June 20, because Bill is actively working and making Southampton Village a better place to live, worship and play.
