Gladys M. Lilly Of Eastport Dies April 7

Gladys M. Lilly

Gladys M. Lilly (née Benjamin) of Eastport, and formerly of East Moriches and Jensen Beach, Florida, died at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 7. She was 97.

Ms. Lilly was born on February 2, 1916, in Riverhead. She graduated from Riverhead High School in 1934. During her long life with her husband, Norman, and family, she enjoyed traveling, camping and crafts. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Church in Center Moriches.

She is survived by her twin sister, Elsie J. Robinson of Center Moriches; a daughter, Judy Pomasanoff and husband Harry of Eastport; and a son, Norman W. Lilly Jr. and wife Ellie of Texas. She also is survived by grandchildren, Susan Dotson and husband Bob of Texas, Sharon Murray and husband Bobby of Speonk, Christopher Lilly of Texas, Leanne Plum and husband Eric of East Quogue, and Cameron Lilly of Texas; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Sheply and wife Luz, Kaelin Sheply, C.J. Lilly, Kayli Lilly, Athan Dotson and Spencer Plum; and two great-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Isabella. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman W. Lilly Sr.

A memorial service was held on April 10 at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Center Moriches.
