I would like to begin by stating that I am Jesse’s biggest critic, and cheerleader. I am the first one to tell him he is wrong and the first one to applaud him when he is right.

With that being said, I would like to speak a little about him as a person, not a politician.

Jesse Warren is a highly ambitious and passionate person. I fell in love with him because of how much he cares about the people in his life and how much he values doing the right thing.

When we are home, he does not shut off his emails and leave work at work, like many of us do. He continues to learn about the needs of village residents, how local government can operate better, and what he can do to make Southampton Village a better home for everyone. His hard work ethic is another quality that I value in him.

Jesse also has owned and operated a successful business for over a decade. The key to success? He is always going above and beyond for his employees and making sure that they are taken care of. Jesse treats everyone with respect, and I get to witness that firsthand by working alongside him.

Jesse also is incredibly focused and is able to tune out the negative and remain positive, no matter the challenge. He never speaks ill of anyone.

His conscience is what I admire the most. He does not have any hidden agendas, no secret deals with anyone, and certainly nothing financial to gain as mayor. Jesse’s one and only goal is to serve the people and do what is right.

I will leave everyone with a quote from one of my favorite books, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” as Jesse often reminds me of Atticus Finch with his reasoning:

“They’re certainly entitled to think that, and they’re entitled to full respect for their opinions, but before I can live with other folks I’ve got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience” — Atticus Finch.
