Gregory Weglein Of Hampton Bays Dead At 76

Gregory Weglein

Gregory Weglein, a clammer who worked the waters of Shinnecock Bay for many years, died at his home in Hampton Bays on April 24. He was 76.

Mr. Weglein was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (née Kiernan).

He is survived by three daughters, Debra Brenner and her husband Charles of Huntington Station, Donna Roselle and her husband Michael also of Huntington Station and Christine Schneider of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, James, Catherine, Michael, Brianne, Laura, Lindsey, Michele, Ashley and Justine; and two great-grandchildren, James and Christopher. He is also survived by a sister, Gabrielle Weglein of Hampton Bays; and a brother, Regis Weglein of Syosset.

Visiting hours and prayer services were held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on April 25. A funeral Mass took place at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays on April 26.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, 103-6 West Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, NY 11946, or East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978.
