Longtime Southampton resident Grenville Walker died on November 7 at his home in New York City. He was 97.
Born March 12, 1911, in New York City, he served as a captain in the United States Army Air Corps. He was an honorary member of The Meadow Club in Southampton, the Racquet and Tennis Club of New York in Manhattan and the Saint Nicholas Society of the City of New York.
In addition to his wife, Florence Buchanan, he is survived by three daughters, Wendy Harrison of New Mexico, and Laura Danforth and Pamela Walker, both of New York City; four granddaughters, Heidi Lepp, Holly Harrison, Laura Danforth Jr., and Florence Danforth; a grandson, Scott Harrison; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
