Oh boy, it’s a boy!! Our daughter, Jessica, and her husband, Matt Badour, are the proud parents of a son, born on Sunday, November 6. Stay tuned for more to come in a birth announcement.Let’s have a big round of applause for Julia Tetrault and Matthew Zbikowski! The two Hampton Bays High School students have been selected to perform in the 2016 Suffolk County Music Educators Association All-County Festival this weekend.

Julia, a senior, will participate with the all-county women’s chorus, while Matthew, who is a junior, will perform with the all-county mixed chorus. The festival features some of the most musically talented high school students from across Long Island. Bravo!

More applause for Don and Dawn Reimer, of Hampton Bays, and her dad, Richard Webber, of Ridge. The trio recently traveled to St. George, Utah, to compete in the World Huntsman Senior Games. This was the 30th anniversary of the games and athletes came from all over the United States and 27 countries worldwide.

Dawn and Richard competed in Track and Field with Richard throwing the javelin, discus and shotput and Dawn running the 10K and half marathon. Richard received a gold in all three events and Dawn came home with a bronze in the half marathon. Well done!

John and Valerie Zuccarelli of the Hampton Bays Beautification Association would like to express their thanks to Villa Paul for hosting the organization’s Halloween party. The food, service, decorations and music and creative costumes provided a spook-tacular evening for all the attendees. As usual, friends and members of HBBA, as well as Hampton Bays Library staff, should be given recognition for their support and help.

About 170 Hampton Bays Middle School students conducted scientific research in the Peconic Estuary last month during a field trip on October 21. Using scientific tools, students conducted chemical and physical tests and took biodiversity inventories of the flora and fauna around the area.

The activity was part of the ninth annual “A Day in the Life” program, coordinated by the Central Pine Barrens Commission, Brookhaven National Laboratory, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Peconic Estuary Program. Way to go, Baymen!
