The Hampton Bays girls volleyball team had its best season since 2009, when it reached the Suffolk County Class B Championship this fall, where it lost, 3-1, to Bayport-Blue Point. The Baymen had a number of accolades due to their success on the court this fall.
Leading the list was Asha Pensa-Johnson, who was named Fourth Team All-State, All-County Tournament Team and All-Classification. Brianna Quiros also earned All-County Tournament Team and All-Classification honors along with All-County Academic. Tania Quiros was also All-Classification, Nellie Nicolova was All-League and Lilly Patek and Sophia Corredor were All-League Honorable Mentions. Andy Fotopoulos was named League VII Coach of the Year, while his daughter, Alexis Fotopoulos, was named JV League VII Coach of the Year.
Charlie Garcia led the Hampton Bays boys soccer team all season long and was given All-Conference honors for his efforts. Teammates Eddie Cabrera and Marcelo Correa were All-League. Jordy Villa earned Academic All-County honors.
Sofia Galvan was the only Baymen cross country runner, between both boys and girls teams, to earn any honors. She was both All-Division and All-League.
Michael Poremba and Erik Sandstrom helped the Hampton Bays boys golf team to a respectable 5-5 record in League VII this past fall. They both earned All-League honors. Jamie Moore earned All-Academic honors.
