Harriet Fountain, Former Gym Teacher At Westhampton Beach High School, Dies at 91

Harriet Tuthill Fountain died on June 8 in Hobe Sound, Florida. She was 91.

Born on September 30, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a physical education teacher at Westhampton Beach High School and a substitute teacher in North Palm Beach after she moved there in 1960. She moved to Hobe Sound 16 years ago.

She is survived by her son Harry and his wife Lisa; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, Merle Fountain; and her daughter, Marian Ladd.

A memorial service and interment will be held for Harriet and Merle Fountain at the Cutchogue Cemetery on Saturday, July 14, at 10 a.m.
