Have 'Coffee With a Cop' on February 10

authorStaff Writer on Feb 6, 2023

New York State Senator Anthony Palumbo will host “Coffee With a Cop,” along with a “Shed the Meds” prescription drug collection in cooperation with the Town of Riverhead Police Department on Friday, February 10, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Riverhead Free Library located at 330 Court Street in Riverhead.

“Coffee With a Cop” is an opportunity to sit down with Senator Palumbo and local law enforcement in an informal setting to discuss the needs of the community and ask questions. “Shed the Meds” is an opportunity to anonymously dispose of expired or unwanted medications. All medications will be incinerated and may be brought in their original packaging. No liquids or needles will be accepted.

“Coffee With a Cop and Shed the Meds are both great community outreach programs. This event will give residents the ability to interact with local law enforcement, ask questions and talk more in-depth about concerns, while also providing them with a safe way to dispose of unwanted or expired prescription drugs,” Palumbo said. “I’m excited to combine these two programs for residents in and near Riverhead and look forward to the event.”

For more information, contact Senator Palumbo’s district office at 631-461-9100 or palumbo@nysenate.gov.
