Head-On County Road 39 Crash Backs Up Traffic For More Than Six Hours

A monster traffic jam locked up most of the roads on the South Fork for as long as six hours on Tuesday afternoon and evening, while crews investigated and cleared a head-on crash between a compact SUV and a rolloff garbage truck on County Road 39 that resulted in one motorist being airlifted to the hospital.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH — Dario Vasquez, 26, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Westhampton Beach Village Police on December 9 and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, a misdemeanor.
