Two people died following a head-on collision on Montauk Highway in Westhampton Friday afternoon, October 16.
Christine Kebbe, 63, of Remsenburg and William Vogel, 89, of Cutchogue were both pronounced dead at Peconic Bay Medical Center after the collision near Tanners Neck Lane.
Southampton Town Police were alerted to the crash at approximately 2:08 p.m. It appears Ms. Kebbe was traveling east in a 2008 Honda CRV when Mr. Vogel, driving a 2010 Honda Accord west, crossed into the oncoming lane and into the CRV.
Westhampton Ambulance and a paramedic unit responded to provide medical assistance and performed CPR on the two victims as they were transported to the hospital.
Ms. Kebbe’s dog, which was in her car, was taken to Southampton Town Animal Control to receive treatment for injuries.
