The Hetrick-Martin Institute hosted its annual “Schools Out” benefit on Saturday, at the Water Mill home of Nathan Orsman and Jose Castro. The event launched in1988 raised over $600,000 the most in its history and will support programs for LGBTQIA+ youth throughout the summer months, when resources are scarce. DYLANN HANRAHAN PHOTOS

East Hampton’s housing shortage is real; the town can’t afford to ignore any potential long-term solutions. But the recent — and now scrapped — plan for a large employer-run complex on Three Mile Harbor Road raises too many questions that haven’t been fully answered. Overlay districts are a common zoning tool used by many municipalities.
