Hope Graham died on July 5, 2017, with her daughter and two close friends by her side. She was 67.
Ms. Graham was born on January 25, 1950, to Frederick James Graham and Priscilla Hildreth Graham, both formerly of Southampton.
A talented artist and avid equestrian, she loved animals and was a caregiver to what survivors described as a zoo. She bred Australian shepherds and Himalayan Persian cats, and yet still if there were ever an animal in need, she opened her home, her heart, and her life. She was loving, kind and compassionate, and always went out of her way to try to help others. She was a woman of great strength, courage, and most importantly empathy, survivors said, and she could light up a room with her smile.
Ms. Graham was predeceased by her brother, Michael Graham. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Hildreth Graham; cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Southampton Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Connell Rothwell Funeral Home in Southampton.
