Horst Remisch Dies At 86

Horst Remisch of East Quogue died at the Westhampton Care Center on Wednesday, September 14. He was 86.

Born in Germany on April 5, 1925, Mr. Remisch, and his wife, Gerda, came to the U.S. from Germany in 1954 and settled in East Quogue in 1957. He opened the Main Street Tailor shop in Westhampton Beach in 1957 and owned it until 1960. He then owned several more shops on the East End.

Mr. Remisch is survived by Gerda, his wife of 57 years; daughters Carolyn Hopson, and Joan Randazzo and her husband Robert of Florida; grandchildren, Matthew Hopson, presently serving in the Middle East, Robert Randazzo Jr. and Carly Randazzo.

A service will be held when Matthew returns from home. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Follett & Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
