Southampton Village officials are reviewing a development proposal on Jobs Lane that would impact the character of this iconic local setting [“Jobs Lane Court Proposal Approved by Southampton Village ARB,” 27east.com, September 26].
While change is inevitable, the proposal is problematic on several fronts. The village has invested much time and expense to guide future development and assure it is compatible with our community. Unfortunately, the project winding through the village, now at the upcoming Planning Board, does not respect the ideals set forth in the Comprehensive Plan that was just enacted three years ago.
