Ingrid Margaret Ritter of East Quogue died on November 15 at the Westhampton Care Center, following a seven-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was 76.
Born May 21, 1932, in Danzig, Germany, to Klara and Carl Lassen, she grew up in Danzig and later in Copenhagen, Denmark.
She lived in West Sayville and Smithtown prior to living in East Quogue and was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Westhampton Beach.
Mrs. Ritter is survived by her husband, Oscar Ritter of East Quogue; three daughters and their husbands, Lisa and Joseph Martone of East Quogue, Robin and Scott Richeson of Colorado, and Nancy and Jeff Rosegren of North Carolina; a son, Lawrence Stangenberg and his wife Linda of West Sayville; a stepdaughter, Donna and her husband Tom Folger of Georgia; a stepson, Carl Ritter Jr. and his wife Karen of Nesconset; seven granddaughters, Angela, Laura, Tara, Katie, Christine, Margaret and Christine; and four grandsons, Robert, Evan, Sam and Nicholas.
A funeral service was held on November 18 at Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach, with Father Joseph Mirro officiating. Interment of ashes followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
