Thank you ever so much to all the many super first responders who participated in extinguishing Saturday’s wind-driven brush fires along Sunrise Highway from Center Moriches eastward to Westhampton Beach. I’m sure there are multitudes of fellow citizens who share in this gratitude.
Local residents were blessed to witness the valiant and selfless savvy efforts of our heroic local and neighboring firefighting volunteers and emergency medical technicians (some from as far away as Nassau County) who quickly and decisively ended the looming threat of a potential 1995 “Sunrise Fire.”
It was welcoming and admirable to find cooperation among federal, state, county and local agencies. It should stand as a paradigm for future success.
Kudos to publications like 27East and News 12’s Thema Ponton for helping keep residents safe and informed.
Bravo and special thanks, again, to all. Your altruistic efforts remain awe-inspiring and encouraging. May God bless you and especially grant speedy recovery to our injured heroes.
