Isadora C. Hutchings of the Shinnecock Indian Reservation died on April 13 at Southampton Hospital. Fondly known as “Missy,” she was 64.
She is survived by her husband, William Hutchings; a daughter, Staysea Hutchings of Shinnecock; a son, William Hutchings Jr. of Shinnecock; a granddaughter, Go-gi-sgk So-qui-li Isdora “Nunah” Dimalanta; and three grandsons, Elijah Kyle Hutchings, Adonis Hutchings and William “Moped” Vines. A grandson, Jalen Hutchings, predeceased her.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, April 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at the Shinnecock Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Michael Smith officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Shinnecock Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Shinnecock Health Center, P.O. Box 1268, Southampton, N.Y. 11969, would be appreciated by the family.
