On hoping for a Phil Keith column in last week’s newspaper, I was greatly saddened to find, instead, his obituary.
Our most recent email exchange was just last month, when, once again, he showed he was never too busy to respond to comments from his readership. I will greatly miss his viewpoints, even the ones I don’t share, and especially his constant and dependable civility and decency in public discourse, as well as his sense of humor. It’s a loss to me, to journalism and to the country we all love.
