Jack Kampf of Hampton Bays died peacefully on October 9, surrounded by his family. He was 90.
Born on April 26, 1935, in Brooklyn, he was the beloved husband of Dawn, devoted father of Robert, Scott, and Dara, and cherished Pop Pop to Rebecca, Derek, Sydney, and Jake.
Kampf began his career as the head lifeguard at Coney Island, where he watched over beachgoers and forged lifelong friendships. Following that, he proudly served his country as a Korean War veteran with courage and honor. After his military service, he worked in the garment center in New York City, where he was admired for his dedication, hard work, and strong sense of integrity. During his time in the garment center, he was a founding partner of the Needlers Foundation, which celebrates 50 years of helping children, a legacy of generosity and compassion that continues to this day.
He will be remembered for his presence, strength, and love for family. He enjoyed golf, the New York Giants, and a good suntan. His family will always treasure the laughter and love he brought to every moment.
