Jackie Amato and Maureen Duffy earned All-American accolades while playing for the Westhampton Beach girls lacrosse team this spring.
Amato was named a U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American, while also earning an Honorable Mention All-County honor. Duffy was an All-American Honorable Mention, while also earning Newsday’s First Team All-Long Island and All-County honors.
Olivia Rongo was also named All-County and Taylor Gallarello was an All-County Honorable Mention. Caroline Henke and Molly Skorbohaty were All-Division, Lily Berchin and Kyleigh Tufano were All-Conference and Ava Derby, Lily Graves and Reese King were All-Rookie.
Rob Moore and Peter Traina were selected as All-County players for the Westhampton Beach boys lacrosse team. Jack Moloney and Dan Naglieri were named All-Division.
Oceane Ode became the first Westhampton Beach girl to ever win a pair of gold medals at the county meet, winning both the 100- and 200-meter dashes, setting school records in both as well. She was also unanimously named the Sprinter of the Year in Suffolk County and was Division III champion in both sprints as well.
Ode also helped the 4x100-meter relay team place second in the county to earn All-County honors. Sara Dunathan, Valerie Finke and Leila Reaves ran with Ode on that team. Ode, Dunathan, Finke and Sintia Gregorio were Division III champs in the 4x1.
Valerie Finke earned All-County honors after finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles. She was Division III champion in the 100-meter hurdles. Madison Phillips was All-Division in the pentathlon, Emily Tully was All-Division in the 1,500-meter race walk, and Jessica Dunn, Sabra Harry, Rose Hayes and Hollie McAllister were an All-Division 4x400-meter relay team. The 4x800-meter relay team of Hayes, Keira Falvey, Oona Murphy and Sydney Scheurer were All-Division.
Gavin Ehlers and Max Haynia were county champions in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter races, respectively. They were also All-Division and All-League. Colbie Mason was All-County, All-Division and All-League in the pole vault, Trevor Hayes was All-Division and All-League in the 1,600-meter race and Will Barry was All-Division and All-League in the shot put.
Josh Kaplan led the Westhampton Beach boys tennis team all season, eventually placing third in the county to earn All-State honors to go along with All-County and All-Division honors. Andre Insalaco, Bobby Stabile, Gavin Vanderschaff, Anthony Agudelo and Sandro Volpe were All-County, Max and Kasper Buchen were All-Division and Santo Benenati and Theo Grellet-Aumont were All-League.
The Westhampton Beach baseball team finished with a 9-9 record to make the playoffs this past spring. Jack Halloran was All-County and All-League, while Frankie Noto and Andrew Moran were All-League and Ryan Miller was Academic All-League.
The Westhampton Beach softball team also reached the postseason after going 7-5. Melanie Meyer earned All-County honors, Addison Celi was named All-Division and Allie Parascandola and Lillie Henthorne were All-League.
Timothy Kraycar and Maizie Poulakis of Hampton Bays each earned automatic bids to the Section XI Track and Field Championships by winning their respective events at the Division IV Championships. Poulakis, a sophomore, tied her personal best in the pole vault, 7 feet 9 inches, to claim the division title. Kraycar, a junior, won the shot put with a throw of 39 feet 9 ¼ inches. Asha Pensa-Johnson finished third in the discus to earn All-Division honors.
The Hampton Bays baseball team finished with one of its best records in recent memory at 9-5. Kai Leporati was named All-County and All-League. Jordan Adelson, Pat Donahue and Gus Schmidt each earned All-League accolades.
Tara Brochu earned All-Division honors while playing out her senior year for Hampton Bays softball.
