James A. Jablonski Jr., formerly of Bridgehampton, died on September 27 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, New York. He was 86.
Mr. Jablonski was born December 27, 1926, in Bridgehampton, the son of Ignatius and Helen (Wisniewski) Jablonski. He grew up on the family farm in Bridgehampton, and after high school he served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II from 1944 until his honorable discharge as a sergeant in 1947. In 1955 he moved to Wayland with his brother Raymond Sr. and together they owned and operated Jablonski Brothers farms. Mr. Jablonski had an avid appreciation for the outdoors and he loved being on the farm.
Mr. Jablonski was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond Sr., Frank and Stanley Jablonski; two sisters, Mary McNamara and Sophie Rutkowski; and a sister-in-law, Isobel Jablonski. He is survived by nephews and nieces, Raymond Jablonski Jr., Carol Talmage, Theresa Rutkowski, Sharon McNamara, Joanne McNamara, Patty Corrigan, Anne Marie Fallo and Frank Jablonski; along with several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A funeral Mass was said on October 1 at Our Lady of Poland Church in Southampton, followed by interment at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton. Memorial contributions may be made to Noyes Memorial Hospital, Hospice Unit, 111 Clara Barton Street, Dansville, NY 14437.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of St. George-Stanton Funeral Home in Wayland and the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.
