James F. Micari
James F. Micari of Southampton died on April 22 at Southampton Hospital. He was 83.
Mr. Micari was born on August 18, 1929, to Frank and Frances Micari of Southampton. He owned Carolyn’s Luncheonette in Hampton Bays from the 1950s until the late 1990s.
He also was the drummer in the Moonlighters Band, with Tom Curtis, Stan Slovak and James Raynor.
Mr. Micari is survived by Frances, his wife of 41 years, and by four children, Frank and wife Ruth of White Plains, Linda Bruzdoski and husband Thomas of Southampton, Charles and wife Diana Olivet of Wading River, and Theresa Olivet Selimaj of Westhampton Beach. He is also survived by two sisters, Sarah Cunliffe of Hampton Bays and Katherine Onuska of New Jersey. Surviving as well are eight grandchildren, Marc, Shaun, Lauren, Tara, Cailin, Eddie, Dina and Tommy; and two great-grandchildren, Angelina and Brenton.
Mr. Micari was predeceased by a brother, Steve, and by a son, Craig.
Services were held at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays; interment was at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays.
