Janet Horn Of North Haven Dies March 9

Janet Horn of North Haven died on March 9, surrounded by her family. She was 84.

Born in Greenport, she grew up in Sag Harbor and married William Horn; they celebrated their 64th anniversary last month.

Ms. Horn worked in the payroll department at Bulova Watchcase Factory until the plant closed in 1975, at which time she went to work in Southampton. Survivors said her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ms. Horn is survived by her husband, William; three children, Bill Horn and partner Liz Curtin of Shelter Island, Steve Horn and wife Terry of Sag Harbor and Lori Stachecki and husband Walter of Sag Harbor; grandchildren, Tyler Horn and wife Melanie of Sag Harbor, Lea Horn of California, Steven Horn and wife Kristen of Farmingville, Jonathan Horn and David Horn of Sag Harbor, Brina Stachecki of Brooklyn and Devan Stachecki of Michigan.

A funeral Mass was held on March 14 at St. Andrew’s Church in Sag Harbor, followed by burial in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Yarldey and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor.
