Jevon Antonio Seymore Of Southampton Dies January 23

Jevon Antonio Seymore

Jevon Antonio Seymore, known as “Chewy,” of Southampton died on January 23. He was 41.

A graduate of Southampton High School, he was an avid basketball and football player. Survivors said that he had a kind and gentle personality. He was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Southampton.

Mr. Seymore worked for the Town of Southampton, transporting senior citizens to various locations in the community. He took great pride in his job and enjoyed the opportunity to help others. He loved to cook and was a master at the grill. Survivors fondly recall his barbecue ribs.

Mr. Seymore’s daughter, Ciara Renee Seymore of Riverhead, who survives him, was the light of his life. He is also survived by a brother, Dory Seymore; a sister, Shelly Sanders; a sister-in-law, Rachel Seymore; a brother-in-law, Bruce Sanders; three nephews, Tyler and Taylor Sanders, and Jordan Seymore; a niece, Kyla Seymore, all of Southampton; his grandmother, Eve Seymore; godmother, Sarah Seymore; godfather, Bob North; girlfriend, Donna Miller and her daughter Kiarra Fuentes; and many relatives and friends.

A funeral service took place the First Baptist Church of Bridgehampton on Monday; the Reverend Frank Bryant officiated and the Reverend Henry Faison Jr. delivered the eulogy. Interment followed at Southampton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.
