Jim Connolly Dies At 68

Jim Connolly of Hampton Bays died at Southampton Hospital on Saturday, November 26. He was 63.

Mr. Connolly was a retired sanitation worker for New York City. He was an avid fisherman who got great pleasure from fishing in local waters and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ellen (née Pallace); a son, Jimmy Connolly of Hampton Bays; a grandson, Ryan James Connolly; siblings, Robert Connolly and his wife June of Florida, Ronald Connolly and his wife Marcia of Hampton Bays, and Michael Connolly and his wife Noreen of Florida, Anne Adams of Vermont and Edith Langan and her husband Dan of Bethpage.

The Knights of Columbus held a service at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 30, in addition to parish prayer services. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, December 1 at 10:30 a.m., at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
