JoAnn Clancy
JoAnn Clancy of Westhampton Beach and formerly of Baldwin Harbor, died on May 24. She was 61.
Mrs. Clancy was an elementary school teacher for 33 years at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Deer Park. Upon her retirement, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Quogue, Westhampton Beach and Remsenburg/Speonk school districts.
Her husband remembered her recently as a woman who loved teaching because of her love of children: “She never taught for money,” he said, “she taught because she loved it and she loved children.”
In addition to her husband, Jack Clancy of Westhampton Beach, she is survived by a sister, Theresa Corso, also of Westhampton Beach.
The family received visitors on May 26 and May 27 at Follett & Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach. Funeral services were held on May 28 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Westhampton Beach. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
