John B. Aspegren Jr. of New York and Southampton died on May 11 at Lenox Hill Hospital. He was 88.

The son of John Bacon Aspegren and Lois Barstow Aspegren, he was a world traveler and an accomplished tennis player in New York and Southampton.

He was a kind, generous man and loyal friend who will be sorely missed, his family said.

He is survived by George William Rabbe Jr. of Washington, D.C.; and Charlotte Barstow Rabbe of Los Angeles; as well as a sister, Theodora Aspegren Bailey.

Services are to be private.

The person stated to Westhampton Beach Village Police that the postcard had disturbing and false information regarding a finch bird.
