He was born in New York City on November 25, 1935 to George and Catherine (Monk) Post. He grew up in Great Neck and spent summers in Quogue, which his family noted he felt “truly was his home.”

After graduating from Choate, he attended both Cornell University (54) and Boston University (64). In the interim, he served as a pilot in the U.S. Navy and later graduated from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Post worked in management for both Hewlett Packard and Phillips until retirement, when he joined the Manchester Chapter of SCORE, supporting local businesses for over 25 years and eventually serving as chapter chair.

He enjoyed many outdoor activities, particularly at his home in Pocasset, Massachusetts, where he was an avid golfer. He loved sailing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Julie (Smith) Post; his daughters Katherine Post and Mary Post, John (Kim) Carmichael, Maureen (John) Boyden, Jill (Mike) Hartfield, Craig (Mary) Carmichael; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his son William Post.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064 or the Quogue Historical Society, PO Box 1207, Quogue NY 11959.
