John Kevin Macdonald, known to most by his middle name, and formerly of Southampton, died at his farm in Kentucky on November 26 after a short illness. He was 62.

Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on April 2, 1952, he was the youngest child of Lucy Cottrell Macdonald and Peter Roche Macdonald, both deceased.

Mr. Macdonald attended Miami University of Ohio and the University of Kentucky. After university life, he followed his parents and sister to the East End of Long Island, where his love of people, good food and good wine led him to form a very successful catering business, Special Events. His more than 30 years of catering connected him to some very special friends, survivors said. He loved sailing, cooking, travel, music and his family.

Mr. Macdonald is survived by a daughter, Bailey Vaughan Macdonald of Southampton; a sister, Ann Stanton Macdonald and husband Charles J. Raubicheck of Brooklyn and Vermont; a brother, Peter Cottrell Macdonald and wife Margaret of Kentucky and Tennessee; and three nephews, Kevin Andrew Macdonald of Tennessee, Peter Stanton Macdonald of Kentucky and Alexander Cottrell Raubicheck of Brooklyn.
